What is a Certified Creative District?

The Certified Creative Districts program through ArtsWA works to help communities in Washington thrive. Its purpose is to help communities strengthen their creative sector, diversify their economy, and enhance their quality of life. A Creative District is an exciting place to live, work, and visit. It’s a focal point - a geographically defined area of cultural and economic activity. A Creative District is the heart of a community - for people to gather and enjoy the arts and culture a community has to offer. Becoming a Creative District is a way for a community to grow jobs and create economic opportunities for all people through the arts. It’s a place where innovation and creativity can thrive, helping a community move enthusiastically into the future.

 

Creative offerings in Twisp are plentiful and come in the form of theatre, performance, music, festivals, exhibits, circus arts, artist studios, art walks, arts education, pop-up projects, makers spaces, print studios, a dye garden for fabric arts, digital artists, ancestral skills classes, a Native American Pit house and Interpretive Center, art demonstrations, tattoo artists, craft drink makers, talented chefs serving up innovative dishes, jewelry makers, glass workers, blacksmiths, woodworkers, weavers, knitters, masons, potters and more!
